Beth Margraves Hurst 81, of Paris, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at her home. A funeral service has been set for 11:00 AM, Friday, January 18, 2019 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Clements officiating. Burial will follow in the Bluff Cemetery in Detroit. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Bethel Clydine Margraves was born May 16, 1937 in Roxton, the second of seven children born to Clyde Royce and Ruth Bell Weddle Margraves. Beth first came to know of God’s love at the family altar at the home of her maternal grandparents, Fannie Belle Chumley and Joseph Bethel Weddle and gave her heart to Jesus on Blossom Prairie and was baptized at a revival at First Baptist Church in Blossom in the spring of 1948. She married Dillard Manon Hurst on June 14, 1954 in Paris. She was a homemaker and member of Highway 82 Baptist Church.
She is survived by her six children, Ruthann Hurst Harris, Tina Kim Hurst Copeland, Samuel Lynn Hurst, Amelia Shawn Hurst Richards, Mark Manon Hurst, and Samantha Hope Hurst Smith; grandchildren, Angel Cangas, Melinda Cangas, Jay Cain, Megan Laplante, Niles Hurst, Zoe Hurst, Nathan Hurst, Robin Richards, John Michael Hurst, Margaret Hurst, Alexandria Hurst, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Smith, Timothy Smith, and Johnathan Smith; three siblings, Melinda Cunningham, Tommy Margraves, and Joe Bob Margraves. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Hurst on March 16, 2010; her parents; and three siblings, Robbie Cole, Watson Ray Margraves, and Gary Dale Margraves.
