A benefit for Honey Grove volunteer firefighter, Evan Brown, who was responding to an emergency call with fellow firefighter Bryson Braley when their vehicle crashed on July 9, has been set for Aug. 5, at Four31 Venue in Honey Grove.
“The Honey Grove VFD responded to a call that no department ever wants to. An accident involving their own. Bryson sustained minor injuries but Evan sustained serious injuries and is currently still in critical condition. Please keep Evan and our department in your prayers.,” said Honey Grove VFD.
Brown was taken to Paris Regional Health and stabilized before being flown to Medical City Plano with extensive injuries.
With a long road to recovery ahead of him, the Honey Grove VFD set up a GoFundMe and will host the benefit on Aug. 5. to help the family with medical bills.
There will be traditional BBQ served and a silent and live auction at the benefit.
Four31 Venue is located at 151 S. 5th Street in Honey Grove.
