Republican candidate, Brandon Bell won tonight’s primaries against Ray Null to pit him against current Lamar County Judge, Chuck Superville this fall.

“I want to thank everybody that worked for me, my campaign manager Ernie Sparks, campaign treasurer Kenny Dority and all my family and friends that pitched in to help with the campaign,” said Bell.

Early evening totals put Bell ahead with a significant lead against opponent Null.

“It’s an honor to be selected as the candidate for the Republican party and I’m looking forward to meeting people, shaking hands and answering questions. People like to know who they are voting for,” added Bell.

As the last precincts came in around 8:15 p.m., Bell won 3720 votes to Null’s 1195.

As for campaigning against current Lamar County Judge, Bell added “I want to keep the taxes low and run a conservative county government. I believe people are ready for a change.”

Bell encouraged local residents to follow his campaign on his Facebook page.
