Aubrey “Denny” Hines, 78 of Powderly, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Paris Region al Health.
A graveside service has been set for Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 10:00 am at Restland Cemetery in Roxton with Rev. Chuey Potter officiating. No visitation hour will be observed.
Denny was born in Paris, Texas on November 29, 1944 to Aubrey and Katherine Hines. He married Valerie Dockrey on July 4, 1986. Denny drag raced for over 20 years, then took up golfing and played five days a week. He loved animals and would rescue all that he could.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie Dockrey Hines; children, Stephanie Matherne and husband Michael, Dustin Wolfe and wife Kristi, Angie Ashton and husband Matt; grandchildren, Ryan Hines, Jeremy Matherne, Tristen Matherne, Brenden Matherne, Dillon Ashton, Haleigh Blackshear, Cade Wolfe “Little Man”, Kloe Ashton and Keelie Ashton; nephew, Kip Hines and wife Kelly; numerous other nieces and nephews; special uncle and aunt, Ed and Latresa Colbert, uncle, Don Barlow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kendall Hines.
The family requests for memorials to be made to Baby Gunn’s Animal Rescue.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Ron Jackson, Gary Davis, Terry Legate, Jon Dean, Ernie Emeyabbi, Dillon Ashton and Matt Stephenson.
