Valley of the Caddo Museum and Cultural Center is hosting a student exhibition, featuring artwork from Lamar County students. The community gets to vote in the People’s Choice.
“The gallery space at the museum is filled with a display of over 50 impressive artworks that highlight the hard work and dedication of the students,” Lena Spencer, exhibit organizer said.
Works of art on display include portraits, landscapes, abstract and non-objective designs demonstrating a wide range of styles and mediums.
Spencer said ribbons have been awarded by guest jurors in the two categories – high school and college. However, there is still one more category the public gets to help decide – “People’s Choice.”
“Please come out and show your support for all the wonderful artists,” Spencer said. “We as teachers are so proud of our students and are lucky to be part of their creative journey.”
The People’s Choice winner will be awarded cash prizes for the most votes, and voting is open until Jan. 16, 2021.
Those participating in the art exhibit include students from North Lamar High School, Chisum High School and Paris Junior College.
