In an Apple update set to be released later this year, iPhone users will be able to download maps for use offline.
The feature will be in the iOS17 updated and be available for iPhone XS and newer, and is currently available in beta for developers.
Users will be able to download a specific area of Apple Maps to their iPhone and view it offline, complete with turn-by-turn directions for driving, walking, cycling, and public transit.
While offline, users will be able to also see their estimated time of arrival, view information like hours and ratings on place cards and more.
Apple Watch users will also be able to use downloaded Apple Maps when paired with an iPhone and in range.
