AP Biology students at North Lamar High School recently put their genetics knowledge to the test with a creative and interactive “Build-a-Baby Monster” lab.
As part of their genetics unit, students used alleles and probability to determine the traits of their unique baby monsters—from eye color and number of limbs to horns and teeth.
This hands-on activity helped reinforce concepts such as dominant and recessive traits, genotype vs. phenotype, and Punnett squares in a fun and memorable way.
