Kicking off the holiday season, Bratcher’s Nursery is donating a live, about 15-18-foot tall tree to the city of Paris to be used as this year’s official Christmas tree for the city’s annual Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting on Nov. 19. The tree will then be planted in a city park shortly after the holidays.
Paris Main Street and City of Paris Recreation Department is set to light the tree during this year’s annual Downtown Christmas Tree lighting on Nov. 19 from 4-8 p.m.
On the east side of the plaza there will be popcorn and hot-cocoa for purchase, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be downtown with live reindeer available for photo opportunities.
The Christmas tree lighting countdown will start at 6 p.m., with musical performances by area choirs and a local vocalist shortly following.
