Anita L. Savoie of Arthur City, TX passed away August 18, 2022 in Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, TX. Anita was born in Lawrence, MA and raised in Middleton, MA as the daughter of the late Albert & Corrine (Bourassa) Savoie.
When Anita was 17 years old she drew national attention when working for Ropes Drug Store in Danvers, MA and unknowingly served coffee to 3 security guards as their truck was robbed of $681,000 dollars, which at the time was one of the largest robberies in the country.
Anita lived across the country in several states and raised four children during her marriage to GySgt Raymond F Dane, Sr. She worked in many different fields before settling in as a medical assistant for private doctors. Those included beautician, florist, phlebotomist, CNA for home health and hospice. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting, puzzles, and crosswords.
Anita was preceded in death by her son, Raymond F Dane, Jr., a brother, Jeffrey Savoie, a sister, Corrine Croteau and a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn M. Mejia. She leaves behind daughters Denise M. (& Dean) Kreilich of Arthur City, TX; Cheryl A. (& William J.) Urmson of Champion, OH; a son Thomas A. (& Tanja) Dane of Springfield, IL; her sister, Alice I. Dane of Jessup, GA; as well as, seven grandchildren: Amanda LaRochelle of Plano, TX; Nestor Mejia of Sherman, TX; John Mejia of Lewisville, TX; Melissa Clark of Belmont, NH; Scott Urmson of Champion, OH; TJ Dane of Springfield, IL; Brady Dane of Springfield, IL; fourteen great-grandchildren, six great-great children, and multiple nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on September 3, 2022 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Hugo with Father Todd Nance as Celebrant. Interment of ashes will be with her family in Exeter, NH in Exeter Cememtery on September 9 at 10:00 AM with Father Bartholomew Okonkwa as Celebrant.
