Would you want to change Halloween?

One of the most marveled holidays on the calendar is Halloween. A day where kids can fully indulge in their imagination and when adults can dress up and be kids again, so to speak.

However, although the night is full of fun as millions go trick-or-treating; it nearly always lands on a weekday. The aftermath of devouring chocolates and candies plus a late-night met with an early morning to get to school or work has increasingly become a hot topic.

A petition has now been circulating since last year, with the hope to see the favorite holiday moved from October 31 to the last Saturday of the month.

The petition states; “It’s time for a Safer, Longer, Stress-Free Celebration! Let’s move Halloween to the last Saturday of October!”

The petition has garnered 71,000 –  less than 4,000 signatures away from its goal of 75,000. At that point, the petition will be sent to the White House, according to USA Today.

But, will changing the celebration of All Hallows Eve lose its magic? Will it, in fact, be a safer way to celebrate or is this just another ‘make you think’ petitions?

The Halloween and Costume Association feels that should the holiday be moved, it will be safer and more enjoyable for all.

What do you think?
