On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at approximately 3:28 p.m., officers with the Paris Police Department and detectives with the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force conducted an investigation into a reported stolen rental vehicle in the 700 block of Graham Street.
During the investigation, officers determined that a known suspect had taken possession of a rental vehicle and failed to return it for several weeks beyond the agreed-upon rental period. After gathering information about the vehicle, investigators later located it in the 3000 block of Clarksville Street with the suspect inside. The suspect eventually admitted to the offense.
The suspect was placed under arrest for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a felony offense, and transported to jail for processing without incident.
During this reporting period, officers conducted 29 traffic stops, made 3 adult arrests, and responded to 72 calls for service.
