Milferd William Townsdin, Jr, 97 of Greenville, Texas, formally of Paris, Texas, went to spend eternity with Jesus on Monday, October 5, 2026. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, October 12, 2026 at the Evergreen Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
He was born near Ripley, Oklahoma on August 27, 1929 and was the son of Milferd W. and Daisy Cardin Townsdin. Milferd, Jr. called “Bud” by his family was a Christian who faithfully prayed for his family. He was the father of 3, granddad of 9 and great-grandfather of 11.
In his early years, he served 2 years in the Army as Master Sargent, stationed in Germany. He later accepted a job as mechanic at Campbell Soup in Paris, Texas which had not yet opened. He later was promoted to supervisor in the can plant and completed 16 years of employment.
Milferd’s favorite hobbies included auto body and mechanic work to restore antique cars and modern-day salvaged vehicles. He also loved watching Fox News, football, singing in the church choir and spending time with family and church acquaintances.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 45 years, Faye Townsdin; son, Kent Townsdin; daughter, Janet Napper; sisters, Lucille Wilkerson, Thelma Sorells; brother, Roy Townsdin.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Eloise Townsdin; son, Clark Townsdin and wife Cheryl; Eloise’s daughter, Cynthia Park and husband Dean; son, Larry Brazile and wife Joella.
Milferd and Eloise Brazile remarried after both losing their spouses to cancer. This was the beginning of a blended family. Between the two of them, they had 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
