Just before 2:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, officers of the Paris Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a male operating an electric scooter in the 200 block of SE 12th Street after he was observed disregarding a stop sign.
During the contact, officers observed the male drop a clear plastic baggie containing suspected methamphetamine and attempt to conceal it from officers. The baggie was recovered and field evidence was collected.
The male was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1/1-B, less than one gram, and Tampering with Physical Evidence, both felony offenses.
He was transported to the jail and processed without incident.
Officers made 39 traffic stops, made 3 adult arrest, and answered 73 calls for service during this reporting period.
