On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at approximately 12:29 p.m., officers with the Paris Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of West Houston Street.
During the stop, officers made contact with the driver and observed a clear bong, commonly used to smoke illegal drugs, in plain view inside the vehicle. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine in the passenger compartment.
The driver was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1/1-B, less than one gram, a felony offense.
The driver was transported to jail and processed without incident.
Officers made 38 traffic stops, made 5 adult arrest, and answered 73 calls for service during this reporting period.
