On Saturday, September 26, 2026, at approximately 3:49 a.m., officers with the Paris Police Department observed a vehicle in the 200 block of NE 20th Street associated with a suspect known to have outstanding felony warrants.
Officers made contact with the suspect, who was identified as the person named in the warrants. As officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, the suspect was removed from the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers quickly apprehended the suspect and placed the suspect under arrest.
The arrest was based on three outstanding warrants: two felony warrants for Continuous Violence Against the Family and one misdemeanor warrant for Criminal Mischief, $100-$750.
While being detained and searched, the suspect again attempted to flee. Officers quickly apprehended the suspect a second time and took the suspect back into custody.
In addition to the outstanding warrants, the suspect was charged with Escape from Custody, Resisting Arrest, and Evading Arrest or Detention with Previous Convictions, a felony.
While the suspect was being transported to the jail, officers located a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine on the suspects person. The suspect was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1/1B, Less Than One Gram, a state jail felony.
The suspect was transported to the Lamar County Jail and booked and processed without further incident.
On Saturday evening, September 26, 2026, at approximately 9:14 p.m., officers with the Paris Police Department were dispatched to a disturbance in the 2700 block of South Church Street.
Upon arrival, officers contacted a suspect involved in the disturbance. The suspect was standing near the suspect’s vehicle at a gas pump when officers observed signs of possible intoxication.
During the investigation, the suspect admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages and driving the suspect’s vehicle from the suspect’s residence to the service station prior to becoming involved in the disturbance.
The suspect was administered standardized field sobriety tests and displayed signs of impairment. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Container of Alcohol.
During an inventory of the vehicle, officers located an illegal THC vape. The suspect was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2, Less Than One Gram.
The suspect was transported to the Lamar County Jail, where the suspect was booked and processed.
Officers made 79 traffic stops, made 8 adult arrest, and answered 194 calls for service during this reporting period.
