On Sept. 6, Officers responded to a call in the lobby of the Police Department regarding an assault. During the investigation, officers observed signs consistent with strangulation, as alleged by the victim. Officers later made contact with the other party, who was subsequently placed under arrest for Assault/House Member Impede Breath/Circulation, a Third-Degree Felony.
On Sept. 6, Officers responded to a disturbance in the 800 block of NE 12th Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female suspect had threatened another female with a knife. Officers observed injuries to the victim that were allegedly sustained while attempting to prevent the suspect from stabbing her. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a Second-Degree Felony.
On Sept. 6, Officers responded to 671 NE 9th Street regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male subject in a vehicle. Officers observed an open container of alcohol and a pistol in plain view inside the vehicle. A probable cause search of the subject and vehicle was conducted, during which marijuana was located. During a search of the subject, officers also located a machine gun conversion device on his person. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for Unlawful Use of a Criminal Instrument, a State Jail Felony; Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, a Class A Misdemeanor; Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor.
On Sept. 5, Officers made contact with a male subject walking in the 2100 block of Clarksville Street regarding reports of shots being heard in the area a short time earlier. While speaking with officers, the subject identified himself but continued walking away. The subject eventually began running from officers. During the pursuit, officers observed him discard a firearm and an extended magazine. The subject was later apprehended and charged with Tamper/Fabricate Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair, a Third-Degree Felony; Evading Arrest/Detention, a Class A Misdemeanor; and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, a Class A Misdemeanor.
During this reporting period, officers conducted 74 traffic stops, made 17 adult arrests, and responded to 235 calls for service.
