The hallways were once again filled with smiles, excitement, and the sound of learning as students across Paris ISD returned to campus Thursday morning to begin the 2026-2027 school year.
Across Paris ISD, students reached exciting milestones on their educational journey—from our youngest learners attending school for the very first time at Lamar County Head Start and T. G. Givens to freshmen taking their first steps into high school. It was a day filled with excitement, new beginnings, and unforgettable moments.
“The first day of school is one of my favorite days of the year because our schools come alive with the energy and excitement of our students,” said Superintendent Althea Dixon. “This year, our theme is ‘Every Day Is A Great Day,’ and that’s exactly the mindset we hope every student and staff member brings through our doors each morning. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, build meaningful relationships, and become the very best version of yourself. We are so excited to welcome our Wildcats back for another incredible year.”
Teachers, administrators, and staff were ready to greet students and help make the first day a positive experience for every Wildcat. Across the district, classrooms quickly came to life as students reunited with friends, met new teachers, and settled into their routines.
As the school year gets underway, Paris ISD remains committed to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
