On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at approximately 1:04 p.m., officers with the Paris Police Department responded to a major traffic crash in the 3600 block of FM 195.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a white minivan traveling northbound on FM 195 rear-ended a U.S. Postal Service SUV that was attempting to turn onto North Hills Road while delivering mail. The impact forced the postal vehicle into the southbound lane, where it was struck by an oncoming pickup truck towing a trailer.
The driver of the U.S. Postal Service vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported by air ambulance to a hospital in Plano, Texas, for treatment.
Traffic citations were issued as a result of the investigation. At this time, no criminal charges are being filed. The crash remains under investigation by the Paris Police Department.
Officers made 21 traffic stops, 1 adult arrest, and answered 64 calls for service during this reporting period.
