The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is inviting residents across Northeast Texas to help shape the future of public transportation by participating in a regional transportation survey. The survey is part of ATCOG’s ongoing update to the 2027–2031 Regional Public Transportation Coordination Plan (RPTCP), a five-year planning effort designed to identify transportation needs, service gaps, and priorities throughout the region.
ATCOG serves as the lead coordination agency for the Regional Public Transportation Coordination Plan, which is updated every five years to evaluate existing transportation services and develop strategies that improve mobility for residents across the organization’s nine-county service area. The updated plan is expected to be completed in Fall 2026.
Whether residents currently use public transportation or not, ATCOG encourages everyone to participate. Survey responses will help identify transportation challenges, prioritize future improvements, and guide regional planning efforts for the next five years.
“Reliable transportation is essential for connecting people to jobs, healthcare, education, and other important services,” said Mary Beth Rudel, Executive Director of the Ark-Tex Council of Governments. “We want to hear from people across our region because every response helps us better understand the transportation needs of our communities. This survey is an opportunity for residents to directly influence future transportation planning.”
The survey is open through August 30, 2026, and takes only a few minutes to complete. Feedback from residents will help ATCOG and its partners identify opportunities to strengthen transportation services and address unmet mobility needs throughout Northeast Texas.
