On July 9, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of Bonham Street after observing a vehicle traveling at a speed above the posted limit. Upon contacting the driver, officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person and observed signs of impairment. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol and was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). A criminal history check revealed the driver had two prior DWI convictions. As a result, the offense was enhanced to Driving While Intoxicated – Third or More, a Third-Degree Felony.
During this reporting period, officers conducted 26 traffic stops, made 3 adult arrests, and responded to 68 calls for service.
