On May 23, Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Jackson Court in response to a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers encountered several individuals engaged in a verbal altercation. During the investigation, one individual was arrested and charged with Assault by Threat, a Class C Misdemeanor, and Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor. Additional charges were filed related to the assault of an elderly individual that reportedly occurred prior to officers arriving on scene.
On May 24, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 800 block of SE 20th Street. While investigating the incident, Officers made contact with Kearia Walker. It was determined that Walker had assaulted a family member during the disturbance. Walker was taken into custody for the assault, where it was later found that she had a previous conviction for family violence. Walker’s charge was subsequently enhanced to Assault Family/House Member W/Previous Conviction, a Third Degree Felony.
On May 24, Officers responded to the 1400 block of Sperry Avenue in regard to a disturbance call. Upon investigating the call, it was found that several subjects were involved in a physical altercation. It was also found that during this altercation, two elderly subjects were assaulted while trying to break up the fight. A report was taken for Assault, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Assault against an Elderly or Disabled Individual, a State Jail Felony.
Officers made 89 traffic stops, 20 adult arrests, and answered 235 calls for service.
