Elsie Frances Stout Johnson, 85, of Reno, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Paris Reginal Health.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29th at Knights of Honor Cemetery with Pastor Brent Riddle officiating. A reception will follow the graveside service at the Blossom Community Center. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 4 – 6 p.m.
Mrs. Johnson, the daughter of Wilmer Ardie Pearson and Evelyn Frances Evans Pearson, was born June 18, 1940, in Tulia, TX. She moved to Lamar County in the early 90’s and worked in home health care and at the Blossom Shell. She attended Leesville Baptist Church until her health failed. Elsie was always active in her community and was known for her orange cake. When her children were younger, she was active in Lamar County 4-H and enjoyed working with horses. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Edwin Ray “Toby” Campsey on Oct. 11, 1992, her second husband, Joe Lee Stout on April 15, 2017, and a brother, Jimmy Pearson.
Survivors include her husband, David Johnson, two daughters, Barbara Hunt and husband Roger and Christy Cooper and husband Sam, a son, Rusty Campsey, five grandchildren, Miles Bradford and wife Lori, Kaitlyn Waldrop and husband Peyton, Laura Cooper, Michelle Cooper, and Randi Marsh and husband Gary, five great grandchildren, Dallas Bradford, Ryley Bradford, Autumn Bradford, Beau Bradford, and Wylder Marsh, and two sisters, Mary Wade and Barbara Reece and husband Ted along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Jeff Finley, Bret Finley, Justin Bounds, Gary Marsh, Caleb Craig, and Miles Bradford. Honorary bearers will be: Roger Hunt and Jim Gatlin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Heart To Heart Hospice or the charity of one’s choice.
