Stacy Sue Shannon, born March 14, 1960, in Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life marked by dedication, strength, and quiet kindness.
She was the beloved daughter of Homer and Mary Shannon. Stacy grew up in Texas and graduated from North Lamar High School, carrying with her a strong work ethic and deep sense of loyalty that would define her life.
Stacy devoted many years of service as Chief Jailer with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, where she earned the respect of her colleagues and community through her commitment, resilience, and steady presence.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Leon Shannon, George Shannon, David Shannon, and Virginia Taylor.
Stacy is survived by her brother, Terry Shannon; her sisters, Mary Jim Dillon, Cordelia Shannon, Alice Shannon, and Laura Brooks; as well as several nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Stacy will be remembered for her strength, her dedication to her work, and the love she shared with those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Pallbearers are Rocky Dority, Mark Taylor, Dale Berglan, Mike Ford, Wes Maxwell and Tracy Sligar.
Randy Dority will be officiating.
A visitation with friends and family will be held on Sunday, March 22 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Fry Gibbs Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Red Hill Cemetery.
