Paris High School students recently competed at the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) State Competition, earning multiple honors and recognitions for their outstanding performances in a variety of competitive events.
Leading the group was Arshia Khadka, who earned Gold Awards in both Public Speaking and Creative Lecture, advancing to the national level of competition. The Gold Award represents the highest level of achievement in TAFE competitions, awarded to students who score between 90–100% of the total possible points in their event.
Several Paris ISD students also earned Silver Awards, recognizing a high level of performance at the state level. Silver Awards are presented to students who earn 80–89% of the total points in their competitive event.

Additionally, several students received Honorable Mention recognition for advancing from the Area Competition and representing their school district at the state level.

TAFE competitions provide students interested in the field of education with opportunities to demonstrate leadership, public speaking, instructional skills, and a passion for teaching. Through events such as creative lessons and presentations, students showcase the skills needed to become future educators.
