03/03 The department received a report of a Felony Theft occurring in the 3500 block of NE Loop 286. The reporting party advised that the business (hotel) had hired an known individual to install a commercial sized hot water heater. After the heater had been installed it had failed a city inspection. The contractor had been obligated to return and make the necessary changes. The contractor allegedly returned under duress but instead of fixing the heater, removed it and did not replace it, stealing the appliance. The heater was valued at over $5,000.00. The investigation will continue.
03/04 Officers stopped a vehicle in the 1900 block of E. Booth St. for defective equipment. The made contact with the driver, Raina Aislynn Green (28) of Paris, and a passenger. Green had and active misdemeanor traffic warrant from the City of Paris and was arrested on the warrant. Green requested that officers release her vehicle to a family member. Green advised officers that there was money in a backpack in the vehicle. Officers conducted an inventory of the vehicle prior to the release and located numerous types of narcotics in the vehicle as well as marijuana and narcotics paraphernalia. The vehicle was impounded and Green was charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a controlled Substance, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, and Possession of Marijuana in addition to the misdemeanor traffic fines.
03/04 Officers investigating a disturbance in the 700 block of Bonham St came into contact with Antajne Ka’Mari Minter (23) of Paris. Minter had an active warrant for DWI from Lamar County Sheriff’s Office. She was arrested on the warrant. In a post arrest search, Minter was found to be in possession of several plastic baggies containing cocaine and cocaine residue. Minter was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance as well as the previously named charge. She was booked without incident.
03/04 Officers received a report of an assault having occurred on March 3, 2026 in the 400 block of E. Provine. The victim, a 61 year old female advised officers that she had been assaulted by a known individual the previous evening. The suspect had come to the victim’s residence and confronted her as she sat in the yard. The suspect referenced a small debt that the victim owed her and when told that the victim did not have the ability to pay her, the suspect, a 58 year old female had struck the victim multiple times with a “baseball bat”. The assault had been witnessed by several other individuals. The victim had not notified officers at the time but when awakening on the date of the report had realized the extent of her injuries. The victim was transported to a local facility and it was confirmed that the victim had broken bones. The incident is under investigation and warrants will be forthcoming.
03/04 Officers received a report of a Bank Fraud. The owner of a business in the 3000 block of NE Loop 286 reported that an ex-employee had been double depositing his paychecks numerous times during the past year. The victim had not noted the theft until doing tax preparation this year. The victim provided banking information and evidence that the known suspect had fraudulently deposited checks on seventeen different occasions resulting in the theft of over $6800.00. The incident is under investigation.
03/04 Officers responded to a Burglary in Progress in the 100 block of SE 19th. upon arrival they met the owner who advised three individuals were in his home and were fleeing out the back. Officers apprehended two of the three subjects in the back yard of the residence. The juvenile suspects (14 years of age) were arrested and then released to parents per Lamar County Juvenile Probation.
Officers made 33 traffic stops, 6 adult arrest, and answered 224 calls for service during this reporting period.
