On Jan. 23, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of Bonham St. for defective equipment. They made contact with Brenda Marie Day (39) of Paris. A warrant check revealed Day to be wanted on numerous warrants out of Lamar County, Hunt County, and The City of Paris. Day was arrested on the warrants including Probation Revocation on DWI and Possession of a Controlled Substance, Theft, and misdemeanor traffic offenses. She was arrested and placed in jail.
On Jan. 23, Officers stopped Kristopher Edward Densel (37) of Antlers Oklahoma for weaving from lane to lane in the 3600 block of N Main St. During a roadside interview, Densel admitted to having marijuana in his vehicle. He also admitted to possession of a THC Vape Pen, prohibited in Texas. Densel was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance. An inventory of Densel’s vehicle netted more THC products including THC Wax. Densel was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Felony, and placed in jail.
On Jan. 26, an officer made contact with Terry Tyrone Hickson (42) of Paris I the 600 block of Bonham St. a warrant check revealed Hickson to have a warrant for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender out of McCurtain County Oklahoma. Hickson was arrested and taken to county jail.
On Jan. 27, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 2500 block of Lamar Avenue after receiving a report of the vehicle driving recklessly on the icy roadway and then observing the vehicle weaving in lanes of traffic and driving at unsafe speeds while striking mounds of snow and ice. Upon making contact officers returned to their patrol vehicle to issue the driver, identified as Chandler Trent Huffman (28) a citation. While officers were preparing the citation, Huffman began to drive away. Huffman was stopped, a second time at which time officers noticed the smell of an alcoholic beverage about Huffman’s person. He was then field tested for DWI and having failed these test, Huffman was taken into custody. He was charged with DWI and Evading Arrest in a vehicle. It was later confirmed that Huffman had two prior arrest for DWI and that charge was enhanced to a Felony DWI 3rd or more.
On Jan. 26, Officers arrested Decarlos Alton Smith (48) in the 1800 block of Cedar where he was spotted by officers knowing his identity. Smith was wanted on a warrant for Bond Surrender on an incident of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Felony. When arrested Smith refused to cooperate with officers forcing them to carry him to the patrol vehicle. Smith was charged with Resisting Arrest or Transport in addition to the initial warrant for arrest.
Officers made 26 traffic stops, 7 adult arrest, and answered 449 calls for service during this reporting period.
