John Dewitt Worrell, 66, of Paris, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026, at his home, following a battle with a number of health issues.
Cremation services were under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. No public memorial service will be scheduled in accordance with John’s wishes.
John, the son of Gene Worrell and Doris Kitchens Worrell, was born Oct. 12, 1959, in Paris, TX. He graduated from Paris High School, Paris Junior College, and then attended ETSU at Commerce. John moved to the Dallas area in the mid eighties where he graduated from AGI Graphics Art School and spent many years in the graphics industry, most notably Taylor Publishing Company. John loved community theater and spent a number of years performing with Dallas area theater companies. John loved animals and was a generous donor to the ASPCA and other animal groups.
John retired back to Paris in March 2025.
He is survived by his life partner of 37 years, Bill Postlewait, his much-loved rescue dog, Lola, two favorite aunts in Paris, Betty (Kitchens) Fields and Frankie (Kitchens) Foster-Gilbert as well as numerous cousins.
Donations may be made to any animal rescue service as a memorial to John.
