Lamar County Republican Precinct 3I Chair Frank Wright will host a free Constitutional Amendment Town Hall at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Powderly Church of God, 9715 U.S. Highway 271 North.
The event is open to the public and aims to help voters prepare for the upcoming election. Wright will provide a voter guide offering suggested positions on each of the 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution that will appear on the November ballot.
The agenda will include discussion of all proposed amendments, along with a review of the North Lamar ISD property tax proposal. Assistant Superintendent Leslie Watson is scheduled to attend as a designated spokesperson for the district.
“I wanted to provide a forum for conservative voters to review the proposed constitutional amendments ahead of early voting so they can make informed choices at the ballot box,” Wright said.
Early voting in Texas begins Oct. 20 and runs through Oct. 31, with Election Day set for Nov. 4.
