Carolyn Boaz Burleson was born on October 9, 1946, in Paris, Tx, and took God’s outstretched hand and left this earthly world Friday, September 12, 2025, at her home in Reno, Tx, which ended her battle with stage four COPD and a heart condition which included a large aneurysm on her ascending aorta.
Carolyn was born to Andrew Boaz and Alma Lee Robinson Boaz in Paris, Tx. She attended Rosa Pearson Elementary School and graduated from Paris High School. She was married to Michael Burleson in 1964 and became a homemaker and co-created what would become to be known as Clearwater Cattle Co in Ragtown, Tx. They had two children Michelle Burleson and Brad Burleson. They lost their son to a car accident in 1985. They were divorced in 1993.
If you knew Carolyn you would know that she loved God, family, friends and she lived life with all her heart and soul. She was talented in all she did. She loved to play the piano & guitar and to sing. She sang in church groups that traveled around to different churches and would go to play & sing get togethers. Everyone loved to hear her voice and the sound of her laughter from the joy she received from singing. She painted and drew pictures and portraits, sewed, knitted, crocheted and almost every other artistic outlet there is to try. She would conquer the learning process, put it to use and be ready to move to the next challenge. She loved a challenge, putting her heart and soul into it and overcoming it her own unique way. She was kind hearted to everyone which led her to counsel with other parents that lost their children and to the profession of caregiving. For many years she lived and tended to patients as she would her own loved ones. After developing back problems which resulted in surgery and pins being inserted she was forced to retire from caregiving. She then focused her attention to enjoying life and her family full time. The last year and a half had been a constant struggle with her lung and heart condition but not a struggle she was willing to share because she chose to fight her battles quietly with God by her side and her family. Her walk with God had always been strong but it became much deeper and more profound. Carolyn was a light that shone for God to give him the glory and she did it like she did everything in her life with everything she had which was a wealth of strength. She was a quiet huge presence that will leave a void in many lives now that she has her wings.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son Brad Burleson, a brother George Edward Boaz and an infant brother.
She is survived by a daughter Michelle Burleson, a very loved granddaughter Jacy Rader Glenn and her husband Matthew Glenn, two especially beloved great grandsons Matthew “Townes” Glenn and Jack “Woods” Glenn, two very loved little dogs Chico and Charlie, and a host of cousins & friends.
