Robert Henry Cate, 82, of Paris, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at his home.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11th at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Gunter officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Lonesome Dove Cemetery in Southlake. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 – 7 p.m.
Mr. Cate, the son of Hubert A. Cate & Lueberta Young Cate, was born April 18, 1943, in Tarrant County, TX. He attended school in Coppell and Dallas. Following his education, he entered the United States Marine Corp where he proudly served four years being stationed in Hawaii and California.
His career with Coca-Cola spanned 33 years before his retirement. During those years he was a reserve police officer for the Coppell Police Department for 11 years. In 1995, he married Tina Lowe Cate. The couple moved to Paris in 2000. Robert was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a man of colors, and the family requests that those in attendance wear colorful attire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Tina in 2021, two brothers, R. L. Cate and H. D. Cate, and four sisters, Ada Putnam, Eva Parkman, Shirley Adams, and Ruby Taylor.
Survivors include a brother, Tom Cate, two daughters, Shawnie Tracy and Rhonda West and husband Dennis, grandchildren, Garrett Laudon and wife Chasity, Scott Tracy, Katelyn Boshell and husband Chris, Tyler West, and Aaron Tracy, four great grandchildren, and a bonus daughter and son, Debbie Cowart and husband Bennie and Allen Blanton and wife Kristen and their sons, Wyatt, Granger, and Jasper, along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Dustin Parkman, Neil Sears, Austin Adams, Andrew Adams, Justin Martin, and John Ebert. Honorary bearers will be: Wayne Parkman and Danny Baugus.
