North Lamar High School recently celebrated the start of football season with two special parent-involvement events, Helmets & Heels and Decals with Heroes. Both events invited parents and family members to join their football player or cheerleader in kicking off the 2025 season together.
Helmets & Heels gave moms and female role models a behind-the-scenes look at Panther football and cheer. Guests enjoyed a meal and then joined their students to learn more about the game, practice cheers, and gain insight into the dedication it takes to be part of Panther Friday nights.
Decals with Heroes followed with an equally memorable evening. Varsity football players invited their heroes—parents, grandparents, or other important figures—to share in the tradition of adding decals to their helmets. This special moment symbolized the support system behind every athlete and reinforced the strong community spirit that defines North Lamar.
Head Football Coach Carlos Guevara shared his appreciation for the turnout and support:
“These events are about more than football. They’re about family, tradition, and community. Having parents and role models involved at the start of the season sets the tone for the hard work and dedication our players and cheerleaders will carry with them all year long.”
With the season underway, North Lamar High School looks forward to an exciting year of Panther pride, teamwork, and tradition both on and off the field.
