An investigation is underway after Honey Grove Youth Sports discovered that funds had been misused from the association over a period of months by the secretary/treasurer, according to the Honey Grove Police Department.
Since the Honey Grove Police Chief Leigh Dixon is on the association board, he contacted and requested the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office Investigators conduct the investigation to keep everything transparent with no conflicts.
FCSO Investigator Jon McCann began the investigation, gathering evidence and speaking with parties involved.
The investigation is still ongoing.
“I want to thank Fannin County SO for their assistance in this investigation. As the Chief I want to always make sure no conflicts will arise during an investigation,” said Chief Dixon. “I ask that the community continue to support the Honey Grove Youth Sports and all organizations. Lets not let the action of one person derail the dreams and efforts of our youth.”
