Friday, October 25, 2024, shortly after 8:35am; some business owners, on Bonham Street, ranging from the 1600 to the 1900 block, opened for business to discovered that they had been a victim overnight; ranging from Criminal Mischief to Burg of a Motor Vehicle to Burglary. A known white male, observed on video cameras, was identified as the lone actor of the crimes. The male was seen spraying down a business with a water hose and leaving the scene with the water still running. He had switched the levers to “off” on several outside AC Units. A cigarette lighter was reported stolen from a vehicle. The garage doors at one business were damaged beyond being able to the closed, but entry was not gained into the main area. The incidents are under investigation.
Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:25 am; a Paris Officer responded to the 3200 block of NE Loop 286 to a welfare concern, where a female was reported not acting normal or making any sense. 47-Year-Old Bethany Michelle Luke of Clarksville was located slumped over, sitting on a bench outside the store. Luke continuously fell asleep as the officer was speaking to her and was subsequently arrested for one felony Possession of Controlled Substance-Oxycodone and numerous Class “A” Possession of Dangerous Drug Offenses. Luke was transported and booked into the Paris Jail.
Friday, October 25, 2024, at 9:43pm; Paris Officers responded to a disturbance in the 700 block of Pine Bluff Street and after several minutes of negotiation, 47-Year-Old Steven Wayne Eubanks followed Officer’s order to come downstairs, where he was placed under arrest without incident. He had choked his common-law wife and knocked the phone from her hand as she was calling 9-1-1. She stated that she believes he is paranoid due to narcotic use. He had accused her of cheating on him and hiding the people that she was cheating with, in the couch. He had stabbed the couch with a knife and hit it with a baseball bat. Eubanks was arrested for Felony Assault Fam/House Mem Impede Breath/Circulation, Interfere with Emergency Request for Assistance and a Lamar County Probation Warrant-Motion to Revoke-DWI BAC>0.15.
Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 7:30am; while on routine patrol in the 1200 block of East Houston Street, a Paris Officer observed a pedal cyclist run a stop sign, while riding his bicycle. Officer made contact and asked the subject if he had any weapons on his person. He stated, “Yes”, he had a knife in his pocket. When the officer asked if he could retrieve the knife for safety purposes, the subject began running away. Other officers assisted in a foot chase and detained 60-Year-Old Christopher Hughes Roberts. Roberts stated he had ran due to drugs being in his pocket. Roberts was arrested for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth and Evading Arrest Detention. His bicycle was transported to the Police Department.
Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11:47am; Paris Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 500 block of Deshong Drive. A male and a female were fighting in the parking lot. A witness stated he saw a male hitting on a female and a young child and yelled at the suspect to stop and leave the property. The known suspect drove his car towards the exit of the parking lot, stopped, pulled a gun and fired it. The witness believed the known suspect to be shooting at him, missing and striking a vehicle. The bullet was retrieved from a passenger door of the struck vehicle. The known suspect has not the located. The incident is under investigation.
Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 12:34am; Paris Dispatch notified Officers of a Disturbance in the 500 block of Deshong Drive. The called stated, “He is choking me”. Officers arrived and made contact with the suspect, who was in the process of leaving the apartment. 31-Year-Old Austin Deon Griffith was detained in handcuffs and placed in a patrol car. Griffith had grabbed the victim by her neck and began squeezing, making it hard for her to breathe. A witness had intervened and stopped the assault. Griffith was booked into the Paris Jail for Felony Assault Fam/House Mem Impede Breath/Circulation.
Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 1:37pm; during an investigation of a Disturbance, where one subject was arrested for Possession of Marijuana; a Paris Officer took a report of a Felony Burglary and a Criminal Mischief of a church in the 900 block of SE 12th Street. A person inside the church stated that she heard two subjects arguing outside and heard a loud crashing noise coming from the front doors and discovered that the plywood screwed to the East wing door had been physically broken out and 3 of the buildings large exterior windows had been broken along with damage to the lock on the main sanctuary door. The incident is under investigation.
Monday, October 28, 2024, at 1:33am; a Paris Officer observed a vehicle failing to signal a turn in the 1700 block of Cleveland Street and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, sole occupant was identified as 45-Year-Old Misty Michelle Miller. During a consensual search, methamphetamine was located, and Miller was placed under arrest for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and booked into the Paris Jail.
