Roy James Crawford was born January 30, 1935 to Jess E and Iva Rushing Crawford. He married Edith Chase on May 13, 1956 and they enjoyed 66 years together. Roy Loved to fish and taught his sons the joy of fishing. He loved fishing with family and was a “little” competitive when it came to catching the biggest fish! He mainly loved the peacefulness of the river where he spent countless days and many nights soaking up God’s infinite beauty with his sidekick Scooby.
Roy is survived by his wife Edith, sons Randy Crawford and wife Carol, Dan Crawford and Gary Crawford and wife Maryellen, one brother Clarence Crawford, four beautiful granddaughters Rachel Terry, Lauren Wilson, Elizabeth Williams and Megan Smith, three bonus grandsons Michael Gray, Sean Hill and Cody Hill. He also is survived by his in- laws who thought of him as a brother: Ron Chase, Larry Chase, Electra Miller, Connie Chase. Numerous great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was loved by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lawrence Crawford, Doyle Crawford, Loil Crawford, Glenn Crawford, sisters Lottie Smith and Dora McEntire. A daughter-in-law Paula Crawford. His mother and father-in-law Gus and Mattie Chase, sisters-in-law Janie Baxley, Nell Mitchell, Helen Sellers, Jack Chase and Tom Chase.
