Alene Weichel Culligan Kennemer, 84, of Paris, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1st at the Evergreen Chapel in Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Lory Hunt officiating. A formal visitation is not scheduled, however; those wishing may pay their respects at the funeral home.
Alene was born Jan. 12, 1937, in Colony, OK to Alfred & Irene Weichel. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK with a business administration degree. She also earned a nursing degree from Paris Junior College in Paris, TX. Alene worked as a registered nurse for many years until her retirement. She volunteered at the Downtown Food Pantry. She also enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Tama Cole & husband Jamie of Cleveland, OK, and Debra Dryden of Paris, TX; a son, Rolland Culligan & wife Lexie of Sheridan, WY, grandchildren; Michella and Wes Carter of Edmond, OK, Mandy and Calvin Clark of Jackson, TN, Justin and Mandi Cole of Louisville, CO, Robert Dryden of Kearneysville, WV, Nicole Costa of Sheridan, WY, and Jessica Culligan of Sheridan, WY, great grandchildren; Gabriella Dryden, Braxton, Adley & Camryn Clark, Madilynn Carter, Riley Costa, and Reagan Smith, a nephew, Eddie Pigg, and great nephew, Robbie & Debbie Pigg along with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kennemer, ex-husband, Robert “Bob” Culligan, her parents, Alfred & Irene Weichel, a sister, Iona Pigg & husband Carroll, and a nephew, Morse Dean Pigg.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Downtown Food Pantry, 124 W. Cherry St., Paris, TX 75460.
