After several people have reportedly been infected with Salmonella, Avanti Frozen Foods has recalled cook shrimp due to possible health risks.
Other brand names the shrimp was sold under include CENSEA, CHICKEN OF THE SEA, HONEST CATCH, CWNO, HANNAFORD, WATERFRONT BISTRO, OPEN ACRES, 365 and MEIJER.
Distributed nationwide from late December 2020 to February 2021, these products should be thrown away or returned to the store where originally purchased.
According to the CDC, those who are infected with Salmonella experience diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps. Some symptoms take about 6 hours to 6 days, and most people recover with zero treatment after 4-7 days.
