One local family took it upon themselves to go above and beyond to pay homage to the fallen police officers of Lamar County.
Amanda and Dave Willows said they were compelled to do something to honor the fallen here in Lamar County during this year’s National Law Enforcement Week.
“Officer David Roberts made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the people of Paris and Lamar County, survived by his precious wife Pam and their son,” explained Amanda Willows.
The Willows’ came up with the idea of a chair that could sit at the Paris Police Department, symbolizing that although the department reads the names of those who ended their watch, that their sacrifices would never be forgotten.
“We contacted JC Woodworks owned by Jeff and Cathleen Padier and asked them to make it (chair)for us. Without hesitation, they built this incredible chair,” she said. “The heart they put into making it is visible in its beauty.”
The gift was welcomed by all members of the Paris Police Department.
“We received the most touching gift of remembrance for Paris Police Officer David Roberts, EOW 09/21/1985. We will always have a ‘reserved’ seat for him here in the Patrol Division at our station,” they stated. “A heartfelt thank you from all of us at the department to Dave and Amanda Willows and JC Woodworks (Jeff and Cathleen Padier) for making this happen.”
