UPDATE 2:51 p.m.: The Delta County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were attempting to serve a warrant when the suspect ran.
On Friday afternoon, both Cooper ISD campuses went into lockdown out of caution due to police activity in the area.
Around 2:12 p.m. Cooper ISD said it a statement on Facebook, “In an abundance of caution, both campuses are currently on lockdown while our local sheriff’s office locates a person of interest. All students and staff are verified safe and secure.”
