On Feb. 27, Officers arrested Xavier Desjuan Hall (34) after a traffic stop for defective equipment in the 1800 block of Graham St. It was discovered that Hall had an active warrant for Parole violation, Possession of a Firearm by Felon. Hall was arrested without incident and placed in county jail.
On Feb. 27, Cedrick Dean Ricks (28) was arrested at the District Parole Office on an outstanding warrant for Parole Violation. He was booked and placed in county jail.
On Feb. 27, Officers received a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim advised that he had given a subject, Joshua Allen Campbell (24) of Paris, a ride to a friends residence. The victim had gotten out of the truck and Campbell had left in the truck without his, the owner’s, permission. Approximately one hour later, the vehicle was located, occupied by the suspect and another subject. Campbell was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. During a search incident to arrest, Campbell was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The passenger in the vehicle was charged with unrelated misdemeanor charges.
On Feb. 27, Officers stopped a vehicle for equipment and traffic violations in the 1700 block of N. Main. They made contact with the driver, John Vincent Buerger (38) of Tucson, Az. Buerger refused to cooperate with officers and appeared to be intoxicated. He refused to display his license but did give a name and date of birth. Officers attempted to locate a license for Buerger but none could be located. Buerger was then informed that he was detained and ordered to exit the vehicle. He refused, eventually forcing officers to break his drivers window to take him into custody. A subsequent search of his person yielded a THC vape in Buerger’s pocket and several more in the vehicle. Marijuana cigarettes were also located in Buerger’s possession. In the bed of the vehicle officers located a rifle. Buerger was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana and Class C misdemeanor traffic offenses. The firearm was seized under federal statute forbidding possession of firearms while in possession of illegal narcotics. Buerger was booked and placed in jail.
On Feb. 27, Officers investigated the theft of a tractor and rotary cutter from the 300 block of NW 286. The victim reported that he noticed the tractor and cutter missing today. He had not checked on the tractor in about a month. The tractor was described as a Long brand tractor with a King Kutter rotary cutter (shredder). Officers collected evidence and the incident is under investigation.
On Feb. 27, a burglary of a residence was reported in the 1900 block of Cedar. The victim advised that on the evening of February 26, 2026, subjects entered her mother’s property and stole a freezer, a side by side refrigerator, and some antique dish ware. The house had been unsecured and unlived in for approximately one year. Officers spoke with witnesses to the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
On Feb. 28, An officer stopped a vehicle for a noise disturbance occurring in the 700 block of Bonham St. The vehicle finally stopped at a residence in the 10 block of NW 11th. While making contact with the driver other vehicles arrived containing numerous females, Areonia Samone Morris (23); Georgiann Hester Morris (43); Takeila Shataria Monique Morris (25); and Latoya Lolita Brown (37). As the officer attempted to interview the initial driver of the offending vehicle, several of the females began a disturbance. The officer eventually had to summon additional officers to try and restore order. All subjects on scene were in various levels of intoxication. Eventually, officers attempted to take Areonia Morris into custody for attempting to start a fight. Areonia Morris refused to obey officers instructions, attempting to evade them by walking away and keeping vehicles between her and the officers. When finally captured, she fought officers by striking them with her fist. As officers attempted to take Areonia Morris into custody, Takeila Morris and Latoya Brown both assaulted officers by striking them with fist and body blocking, interfering with the officers duties. Several subjects consisting of the following were arrested and charged as listed.
Latoya Lolita Brown Interfere with Duties of Public Servant, Public Intoxication, Assault of Public Servant, and Municipal Traffic Warrants.
Areonia Samone Morris-Assault of Public Servant, Interfere with Duties of Public Servant, Resist Arrest or Transport, Evading Arrest or Detention, Public Intoxication. Harassment, and Criminal Mischief over $100.00.

On Feb. 28, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 10 block of 14th NW for a traffic violation. They made contact with Deiwin Jose Camacho Moreno (36). Camacho-Moreno was found to be wanted out of Frio county for Smuggling of Persons, a Felony. He was arrested and taken to county jail.
On Feb. 28, Paris Police and Officers of the NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force arrested Jackson Isiah Hamilton (18) in the 600 block of E. Price Street. Hamilton was a suspect in the theft of a vehicle from Telephone Texas. It was learned that Hamilton had sold the vehicle to subjects in the Paris area. Hamilton admitted t having stolen and sold the vehicle during an interview. He was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle at that time.
Officers made 114 traffic stops, 21 adult arrest, and answered 310 calls for service during this reporting period.
