The 53rd Annual Lamar County Junior Livestock Show and Sale is set for April 15-16 at the Lamar County Fairgrounds.
All Lamar County FFA and 4-H market animals – steers, lambs, hogs and goats – must be in line by 7 p.m. for weigh-in on April 14. On April 15, rabbits check-in at 6:30 a.m., with broilers check-in at 7 a.m.
At 12 p.m., broilers and rabbits must be picked up, except for Grand and Reserve Champions.
Also on April 15, the Market Lamb show begins at 12 p.m., in the show arena with market hog show following at 3 p.m. Registration for the Parade of Future Exhibitors starts at 5:30 p.m. with the parade following at 6 p.m. The Steer Show begins at 7 p.m.
On April 16 at 8:30 a.m., the Ag Mechanics judging begins. Breeding Beef Heifer check-in is from 9-9:30 a.m. and the show begins at 10 a.m. The buyers’ appreciation meal will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the community exhibit center with the sale of market animals following in the coliseum at 6:45 p.m.
