Paris High School seniors Graham Bain and Lilly Lewis placed first and second, respectively, in the Air Force Association Earle North Parker essay contest for the North Texas region.  Will Elliott received honorable mention.

They were honored at a dinner and recognition ceremony at Texas A&M University-Commerce and received $1,000, $750 and $250 cash scholarships. Bain and Lewis received a United States flag which was flown over the U.S. capital in their honor.

All three students are in Sandra Strom’s AP English IV class.

The Earl North Parker Essay program is a statewide contest sponsored by the Air Force Association of Texas. The essay topic for 2017-2018 was: Non-commissioned pilots: Historically, who did, and now who does/could pilot Air Force aircraft?
