The ε-Perseid meteor shower will be active from today to Sept. 21, with its peak on around Sept. 9.
Between now and Sept. 21, there will be a chance of seeing the ε-Perseid meteors whenever the constellation Perseus is just above the horizon. The higher the radiant point, the greater the chance of being meteors.
The ε-Perseid meteors are likely to produce a greater display near 5 a.m. PDT. The peak time will be about 4 a.m. PDT on Sept. 9, with its best display just before dawn.
Meteor shower viewing tips from NASA.gov:
- To enjoy the meteor shower, just find a safe, dark location away from bright city lights.
- Lie down or recline with your feet facing roughly toward the north and lookup.
- The meteors appear to radiate from around the constellation Perseus, but they can streak across the sky anywhere above you.
