The Paris Police Department now has help in locating stolen vehicles, missing people and more with a new camera system being placed in various locations throughout the city.
“Several of these devices have been placed on major thoroughfares and will notify local law enforcement of license plate matches to stolen vehicles, missing persons and such,” Paris Police Officer Curtis Garrett said.
The Paris Police Department entered into a contract with the Georgia Company Flock Safety, which operates Automated License Plate Readers. These license plate readers were paid for through the police department’s motor vehicle crimes program and its federally funded Project Safe Neighborhood Grant.
