Paris ISD is changing guidelines for its varsity football games prior to its upcoming home game, which includes the use of a wristband.
“In efforts to enhance student supervision, safety, and customer service at Paris High School home varsity football games, new measures will be implemented,” said Principal Chris Vaughn.
Vaughn said Paris ISD students will be issued a wristband when they arrive at the gate, which must be worn during the game. Students will have the option of sitting with parents or in the student-designated section located at the south end of the home side bleachers for high school students, or in the home side end zone bleachers for students on other campuses. Students who sit in the student section will enter Wildcat Stadium through the South gate on the home side.
“Students will not be allowed to roam or loiter during games,” said Vaughn. “Students sitting with their parents will be allowed to visit the concession/restroom area two times during a game.“
A mark will be made on the students’ wrist bands when they leave the stands, and will no longer be allowed to leave the stands after two marks have been made unless they are accompanied by a parent.
“If your child is sitting with you, please remind them of this, as the same rules will apply to them as those who sit in the designated student section,” Vaughn said.
Students in 7th grade or above who are dropped off at the game, “please make sure they are picked up within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the game.”
After this time, administrators and game workers will be dismissed from their duties for the night. Students not picked up will not be permitted to attend the next home game.
“Again, we strive to make football games safe and enjoyable for our students and community, and we believe the above measures are a positive step in that direction,” Vaughn said. “I thank you for helping us make PHS football games safe and fun for all spectators.”
