USA Mullet Championships crown teens and kids winners, registration for men’s category open

The votes are in and the 2022 USA Mullet Championships teen and kid winners have been announced.

With a stylish mohawk on top and long curly locks down the back, Emmitt Bailey, an eight-year old from Menomonie, Wisconsin, was crowned the winner in the kids’ division on Sunday.

In the teen category, Cayden Kershaw from Wausau, Wisconsin, took home the top prize with his golden main that gives Joe Dirt a run for his money.

Both winners took home $2,500 in cash with second and third prize winners receiving Mullet Champs Gift Sets.

In 2020, eight-year-old Jax Crossland from Celeste, Texas, was crowned the winner having grown his mullet since he was one-year old.

“He is over the moon. The first thing he said is ‘I’m never cutting my curls now’ and that he can’t give out autographs yet because he doesn’t know cursive,” laughed his mom, Zoie.

According to USA Mullet Championships, long before it (mulelts) were popularized by actors and rock stars in the 1980’s, the Mullet has been traced back to warriors in Ancient Greece.
