UPDATE: Name released in Blossom shooting

On June 26, 2018 sometime around 5:57pm the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a resident in the northeast portion of the Blossom Community stating that her husband had been shot by a neighbor.

Lamar County Deputies along with law enforcement from Reno Police Department, Department of Public Safety, and Texas Rangers arrive on scene in the 300 blk of Elm Street in Blossom.

Deputies found a male subject with a gunshot wound to the face.

The victim told Deputies that he had been outside mowing across from his residence when a known neighbor shot him.

The victim was careflighted to a hospital in the metroplex.

The suspect Roderick Rydell Minter lives in the neighborhood and was located a short time later at a residence in close proximity to the shooting and was taken into custody.

Minter was transported to the Lamar County Jail and awaits arraignment.

Minter is charged with Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon.
