Two students were arrested on Tuesday morning after a semi-automatic handgun was located and seized at Sherman High School.
School officials and law enforcement were made aware of a gun exchange that took place between two students on the school campus early this morning.
“Immediate action was taken to protect the safety of the student body and the involved students were identified,” said the Sherman Police Department in a press release. “A semi-automatic handgun was located and seized.”
The involved students were located and detained without incident.
“The two students were placed under arrest for weapon charges. No students or faculty members were threatened or injured with the firearm.”
