Two women are behind bars after a combined effort of Lamar, Delta and Hopkins County police officers and investigators.

On Sunday afternoon, Lamar County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a burglary in progress in the southwest part of Lamar County.

“A relative of a homeowner interrupted the burglary by two females in a white passenger vehicle,” said Lamar County Sheriff Scott Cass.

The suspects were confronted in the driveway while leaving the residence by the relative of the homeowner, who then followed them while calling the Sheriff’s office.

“Deputies arrived in the area but lost the suspects somewhere in the southeast part of Lamar County,” said Cass.

It was later learned from Delta County Sheriff’s Office that matching suspects and car description were seen in the area of two residences on Sunday in Delta County that had been burglarized.

On Monday, March 26th, Detectives with the Lamar County Sheriff’s office located the suspect vehicle in the Dike community in Hopkins County.

“Subsequently, Detectives with the Lamar, Delta, and Hopkins County Sheriff’s Offices located two females matching the description given by complainants along with a white vehicle matching the description of the vehicle seen at the burglary in Lamar County.”

A search warrant was gained by Lamar County Sheriff Detectives for the residence where numerous stolen items were recovered from the burglary in Lamar County and the two burglaries in Delta County.

The suspects: Amber Michelle Morgan from Hopkins County and Heidi Elizabeth Wosotowsky from the San Antonio area were arrested on scene by Hopkins County Detectives on non-related charges.

Wosotowsky was arrested for an outstanding Parole Warrant and Morgan for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of a controlled substance >4 grams < 200grams.

Warrants were obtained by Lamar County Sheriff Detectives from the Lamar County Attorney’s Office for Burglary of Habitation on each suspect.

Both suspects remain in custody at the Hopkin’s County Jail at this time.

Morgan is being held on a $60,000 bond and Wosotowsky on $40,000 in bonds.

“I appreciate the information gained from the witness in this case that aided the investigation tremendously in locating these suspects,” said Cass. “Also I want to commend the multiple agencies involved that worked together to solve these burglaries. The good working relationships among the Detectives resulted in these suspects being apprehended quickly and the recovery of the property stolen from the complainants”.
