Altaire Pharmaceuticals has issued a voluntarily recall for several eye drops and eye ointments sold at Walgreens and Walmart because the product may not be sterile, according to the FFA.
“Administration of a non-sterile product intended to be sterile may result in serious and potentially life-threatening infections or death,” said the recall.
The recall covers Walmart’s Equate brand allergy treatments, eye drops, and gel drops and Walgreens’ name brand eye drops and eye ointment.
The company said there have been no reports of any serious or life-threatening infections or death from using the products.
