Paris Police Officers are investigating an animal cruelty case after a Pitt Bull was reportedly hit in the head with a hammer.
At about 5:30 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to the 2200 block of W. Cherry Street. Witnesses told officers a “white male had hit a brown Pitt Bulldog in the head with a hammer.”
Officers located the dog and found it had a small amount of blood on his head and nose. The suspect was not found, but the dog was placed in the City of Paris Animal Shelter.
The investigation is ongoing.
